Macklin Guzmán, DHSc, MPH

Dr. Guzmán is a clinical epidemiologist and research scientist originally from El Salvador and raised in Boston, MA. With nearly two decades of experience in healthcare, he has held roles in public health practice, hospital administration, and as a multi-unit healthcare executive. Currently serving as the Chief Science and Quality Officer at Medi-Weightloss, he leads the R&D efforts for the national network of 100+ obesity medicine clinics. Dr. Guzmán is recognized for his expertise in clinical and translational research focusing on obesity, metabolic syndrome, and other chronic diseases. He has been honored with the Early Career Investigator Award from The Obesity Society and the Clinical Management Obesity Research award from the Obesity Medicine Association for his contributions to type 2 diabetes research. Dr. Guzmán resides in Tampa, FL and enjoys travel, outdoor activities, wine, and cooking.
